LANCIA GAMMA EUROPEAN MEETING
Urbino and Gradara (Italy)

This Meeting collected the cars the 17th of April in the morning in
Pesaro, offering a first buffet to the drivers. The big number of cars
, the presence of foreign drivers and the arrival of many saloon models
were signals of a successfull Meeting. The number of people has been one
record : about 80 "gammisti" on about 25 coupè and 8 saloons.
Very beautiful the Black "diplomat" saloon prima serie from England.
Great partecipation of english friends from Gamma Consortium under the
wings of Jack Romano.
One appreciated new entry has been that one of Michel and Mieke Neyt from Belgium (waiting for their Gamma, still under restoration) . Very helpful has been the presence of the "SuperFulvista" Andrea Nistri who helped a lot the organization with his pefect english and his interesting arguments .Everybody was wondered of the group of saloons of Carraro family !
No news from our german friend Bernd HauBler , who was waited since friday night
After the welcome from the organizers (Mrs. And Mr. Scaramucci "in primis", and Grilli & Moresco) the long snake made by gammas started in direction to the hills, to Urbino. Then the cars, under the permission of Urbino's authorities, have been exposed on Piazza Rinascimento (or Duca Federico).
The group visited, with official guides, the Palazzo Ducale and after
such big mess of history and culture finished (as usual) into the restaurant
for tipical food and beverages of the "Marche" .
Finally Bernd appeared!
The night before he stopped his way in Innsbruck, due to one incredible quantity of snow on the Brenner Pass, betwwen Austria and Italy !
But the Pass was closed also on saturday morning so he bought a pair of wheel chains and ,exploring one parallel track , he reached Italy and then Urbino.
Congratulatons for your Great Faith on Gamma: the snow cannot stop our front wheel drive cars !
No too many problems from the Urbinos' rain and on the evening gammisti reached their hotels. The "Gala" dinner has been on Fermignano and after the food the most skilled dancers moved their bodies following live music .
Sunday 18th morning the group started to the sea and then climbed the hill of Gradara .
Here, after the visit to the Castle and the histories about Paolo and Francesca, people had the last "fish" lunch and then it was time to finish the meeting and bring back the cars in the various european garages .
Personally I leaved to my town, Conegliano, really afraid for the foam in my engine oil ("cappuccino" disaster, as well descripted by Moresco on its Quaderni) .
But, helped by friends Andrea and Bernd I had no problems until home adding other 794 km to the history of my 2000ccm engine.
So now we're waiting for another chance, maybe in another european Country. Thanks again to Mrs. and Mr. Scaramucci for their good organization.

1° RADUNO EUROPEO LANCIA GAMMA
Urbino e Gradara

Il meeting ha radunato le vetture nella mattinata di Sabato 17 aprile a Pesaro per un primo Buffet di ritrovo.
La grande quantità di vetture, la presenza di equipaggi stranieri e l'arrivo di molte berline ha subito preannunciato il successo del meeting.
La partecipazione è stata un record contando su circa 80 gammisti, su circa 25 coupé e 8 berlina tra cui una bellissima Diplomat nera prima serie dall' Inghilterra.
Grande la partecipazione degli amici inglesi del Gamma Consortium ,
capitanati da Jack Romano, 
Una simpatica novità è stata quella degli amici Belgi Michel and Mieke Neyt (purtroppo la loro Gamma è ancora in fase di restauro) e la presenza del SuperFulvista Andrea Nistri che con il suo ottimo inglese ha intrattenuto non poco il gruppo inglese .
Di grande effetto la flotta di Gamma berlina della famiglia Carraro.
Dell' amico tedesco Bernd HauBler , aspettato già per il venerdì sera, invece nessuna raccia.
Dopo il benvenuto degli organizzatori , tra cui in primis la coppia Scaramucci , il presidente Grilli e il segretario Moresco , il lungo serpentone è quindi partito verso le colline marchigiane in direzione di Urbino .
Le vetture , munite di regolare permesso del Sindaco di Urbino , sono state esposte al pubblico nell'area della Piazza Rinascimento (o Duca Federico).
E' seguita la visita guidata al Palazzo Ducale e dopo tanta storia e cultura si è passati alle libagioni (nel cento storico stesso) ben coniugando qualità e quantità ..
Finalmente è apparso Bernd che la sera prima aveva dovuto pernottare ad Innsbruck e comprarsi un paio di catene nuove visto che il Brennero era chiuso per una improvvisa bufera di neve ! Poiché anche il sabato mattina il Passo era ancora chiuso Bernd, con le catene nuove, si era avventurato su una stradina appena segnalata sulle carte bypassando così il blocco e arrivando infine in Italia. La neve non può infatti fermare le ns. amate trazioni anteriori . Complimenti ancora per la estrema Fede Gammista !
La pioggia non ha ostacolato più di tanto la giornata e nel secondo pomeriggio la carovana si è divisa nei 3 hotel previsti per il folto gruppo.
I gammisti si sono poi ritrovati per la cena a Fermignano e i più leggiadri hanno poi danzato al suono di una piacevole musica dal vivo.
La domenica le Gamma si sono riunite e sono scese verso il mare per poi risalire a Gradara. Qui tra i racconti su Paolo e Francesca e la visita del Castello si sono spese le ultime ore del raduno e dopo un ottima abbuffata di pesce la comitiva ha incominciato a sciogliersi disperdendo nuovamente questo patrimonio di splendide vetture in giro per l' Europa.
Il sottoscritto è ripartito alla volta di Conegliano non privo di preoccupazioni per la presenza della famigerata schiuma nell'olio della sua 2000 seconda serie (effetto cappuccino molto ben descritto da Moresco nei suoi Quaderni) scortato fino a casa dai fidi Andrea e Bernd e aggiungendo così altri 794 km alla lunga storia del suo motore.
Si sono così concluse queste lungamente attese giornate di ritrovo.
Complimenti da parte di tutti alla coppia Scaramucci e classico arrivederci magari in un'altra nazione Europea.
